Monthly Facebook Giveaway!

Standard

Those of you who have been following for a while know that I typically host a giveaway a couple times a month when I hit a hundred or so mark on The Radical Uprise Facebook. I would love to encourage more activity on the page, so I’ve decided to host a monthly giveaway that rewards the individuals who spread the joy by spreading the word.

Often on Tumblr, I run across folks who upload photos of their zines and buttons they order. I absolutely adore this. It’s so great to see something that I’ve created get delivered and enjoyed by others all across the world. That said, I want to see more of it! I’m going to start rewarding folks who post photos of TRU orders. At the end of every month, I’ll browse through the tagged photos and choose a random winner. Is that incentive enough to share the goodness?

If you’ve EVER ordered anything from The Radical Uprise, you can still upload your photos and be entered to win. Yes, that zine you ordered six months ago that’s tattered and stained, yes, the buttons you’ve worn on your shoes that are scuffed and dirty. If it’s a TRU product, snap a picture and upload it. You can either upload directly to the Facebook page, or upload to your own wall and tag The Radical Uprise!

I am really looking forward to seeing some of my readers with their TRU merch! Get started today. (:

Standard

GO VEG buttons / The Radical Uprise on Storenvy

It’s so refreshing to hear that so many people are interested in picking up a vegan lifestyle. I am very excited to be handing out a handful my zines! Initially, I had decided to give away five free copies. However, since a great number of people commented, I felt like I should increase that number. As much as I would love to give away a free copy of the zine to everyone who commented, I’m afraid I can’t. However, I have decided to choose FIVE winners to receive a copy of the zine in the mail and TEN people who will receive a FREE digital download of the zine (.PDF file). To the five “first place winners,” should you request a copy of the digital download, I am more than happy to provide you with one. (:

I have decided to host a one week sale on the .PDF digital download of the zine, where you can snag a copy for ONE DOLLAR. That’s a savings of $6+ if you were to purchase it from the Storenvy shop. If you are interested in taking advantage of this limited time offer, simply CLICK HERE to buy it now through PayPal! An e-mail will be automatically sent to you after the transaction, where you can download the file. If you don’t have a credit card or PayPal account, I will happily accept cash. Please post concealed cash, $1 USD to Jetta Vegas / PO Box 20233 / Seattle, WA 98102, and include a note with your e-mail address so I can send you the file to download!

Thank you, all, for your interest! E-mails have been sent your way if you were lucky enough to score. If not, please take advantage of this limited time sale and purchase a copy for one dollar today!

The Radical Uprise vegan zine giveaway.

Standard

As promised, The Radical Uprise on Facebook hit 600 likes and I am doing a giveaway. This one is for a selective group, I suppose, as I’m completely aware it’s not for everyone. I get messages daily from folks (mainly high school kids) who want to adopt a vegan lifestyle, but don’t have the slightest clue where to start and/or don’t have the funds to pick up one of my zines. To start the year off right, I’m going to be giving away FIVE copies of The Radical Uprise Zine #012 : Guide on Going Vegan.

Don’t let the title fool you. It’s a bit controversial, I know, but it’s all in good fun. If you’ve seen Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, you  should pick up on the humor. If not, it seems a little patronizing, condescending and well, rude. No matter. It’s far from militant, loaded with some solid information from some incredible contributers. Jeff, from BecauseWeMust.org shares some great information about activism. My good friend, Will Joyce, debunks the myth that all vegans are scrawny with his contribution regarding veganism and body building. On a similar note, Natala Constantine from veganhope.com allowed me to publish her article, “YES, I’m a fat vegan.” Tumblr shares some of their favorite things about being vegan! Bianca from ReLove Plan.et provides a lot of great information on vegan friendly fashions – everything from the treatment of animals used for fashion to the environmental toll. My incredible friend Jessica wrote a bit about how vegan isn’t a “four letter word.” This issue is jam-packed with some serious content from folks who know what’s up!

Please reserve this giveaway for folks who are truly and genuinely interested in exploring a vegan lifestyle. If you’re a self proclaimed carnivorous beast with absolutely no desire to “cross over,” this is not for you. I want to help folks get the information they need to adopt a vegan lifestyle who may not have the means to do so themselves. That said, play fair. If you haven’t already, head on over the The Radical Uprise on Facebook! Invite your friends, so they can be a part of the fun. The next giveaway will launch once the page hits 700 likes, and it’ll appeal to more folks. (:

LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW TO BE ENTERED! Five folks will be selected at random, and a winner will be announced on Friday, January 6. Last day to comment is Thursday, January 5. Best wishes!

The Radical Uprise Giveaway: Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Soap / US Only

Standard

Ahoy!

Here we go. ARRRR you ready? You sure? Let’s dive in.

First, before you get your beating hearts wound into a frenzy, this particular giveaway is for residents of the US only. Shame, shame. Next time, foreigners. (;

Alright, so I’m swimming in a sea of Dr. Bronner’s – and I’m actually going to stop making pirate-y jokes. But in all seriousness, I’ve got lots of Dr. Bronner’s and I’ve decided to give away a few handfuls over the corse of the next few weeks because:

  • I need to get rid of some of this damn soap! Dr. Bronner’s agreed to send me some soap (a LOT more than I anticipated) after I contacted them a few months ago and alas, I still have loads floating around.
  • I like giving stuff away. It’s fun. And apparently you all enjoy it as well, right?
  • Christmas is going to be creeping up on us fast enough, and these bars of soup would make perfect stocking stuffers or gifts for co-workers!

So, let’s get down to it, shall we?

As usual, I don’t require much. It’s not necessary to tweet or blog or spam your friends (unless you want to, of course!). You’re reading this page, so that’s half of it. All you need to do is comment. I usually ask you a question and you comment with an answer. We’re gonna get a little personal this round. Answer me this - How often do you shower? Don’t hold back! (; Leave a comment below and you’ll be entered! A winner will be chosen at random on Thursday, November 17. Last day to comment is Wednesday!

The chosen one will receive: One flat rate box packed with Dr. Bronner’s peppermint soap bars.

That’s 18 bars of soap, so depending on how much you shower, it could be a year or lifetime supply! Dr. Bronner’s soaps are fantastic. I’ve been using them for years. The peppermint soap is a bit tingly. (: Fair trade. Not tested on animals.

This giveaway is valid for US residents only. Sorry, International buddies. I still love you. <3

Go like The Radical Uprise on Facebook. Once the page hits 500 likes, I’ll be hosting another giveaway, which will be open to International readers as well. I am so pumped about it, too. (; Tell your friends!

Best of luck to everyone! Stay tuned for future contests! There will be plenty in the future. (:

Jeff, from BecauseWeMust.org shares some great information about activism. The Radical Uprise Giveway.

Standard

It’s that time.  Are you ready?  Free stuff rules.

For those of you who don’t know, Dr. Bronner’s makes my favorite soaps.  They are simple, basic, fabulous and refreshing – AND (if I may add) their labels can be quite the read if you’re in the bathroom for a while taking care of …er… business.

I started out using the liquid peppermint, but can’t use it in the winter.  It’s a great soap, but the peppermint made me too cold, you see.  It almost felt like I was washing my body in mouth wash – in a good way, of course.  So, winter rolled around and I purchased their almond soap.  I bought the largest bottle, so I’ve still got a ways to go before I run out.  However, I have several (and by several I mean a couple hundred) bars of Dr. Bronner’s peppermint soap bars, and figured since the weather is warming up, it would be a good time to start giving them away.

What do I love about Dr. Bronner’s?  It’s 100% vegan.  No animal testing.  No detergents.  I can pronounce everything on the label.  It just basically rules.

How the giveaway works:  Comment this article.  No reblogging.  No spamming your friends.  No tweeting.  Just comment.  How about you comment with five things that make you feel refreshed?  This should set the mood, eh?  I’ll even start:

  • Chugging a huge glass of ice water.
  • Long full body massages.
  • A good night’s sleep.
  • Meditation.
  • Diving into a cold pool on a hot summer’s day.
What about you?  What makes you feel refreshed?  Comment with five things, and you’ll have a chance to win some of this refreshing soap!  ONE winner will be chosen at random.

What you win*:  A small flat rate box stuffed with as many bars as I can squeeze in.  You should be set for a few months (or maybe even a good year or two) on soap.

A winner will be chosen on Friday.  The last day to comment is Thursday.

*PLEASE NOTE:  This particular giveaway is for US residents only (due to international rates).  Please make sure you comment with a valid e-mail address.

Good  luck!
